Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mary of Denmark became the international patron of Twins Research Australia, and of the Danish Twin Registry, following a joint announcement in Denmark.

An excited Director of Twins Research Australia, Professor John Hopper, attended the ceremony in Denmark.
“It is an absolute thrill to be here as it is a historic moment for our organisation and for twins research,” Prof Hopper said.

“The Crown Princess’s patronage will raise awareness of the unique contribution that twins are able to make in research across a range of health issues to benefit us all", he said.

“And it is a vote of thanks to all of our twin volunteers and acknowledgement of the important contribution they make.”
