Eligibility: Individuals or twin pairs aged 18-65 years.

This project will investigate the value of a sleep quality program in people with low back pain and insomnia.

What is involved?

An initial screening questionnaire to assess eligibility. Eligible participants will be randomly allocated to a 6 week web-based sleep program which entails an initial baseline 20 min questionnaire and then weekly activities which will take an average 30-60mins. Upon completion of the program - and then again 6 weeks after participation, a further questionnaire will be required - this should take 20-30mins. One last 5 minute questionnaire will be needed a week later.

Who is eligible?

Individuals or twin pairs aged 18-65yrs who have had low back pain for 6+ weeks, have experienced sleep problems. Participants must have internet access with a device that has a speaker and active email account. You cannot be pregnant or lactating, a shiftworker or have any serious spinal issues or infectious diseases. You must also not be taking any medication for insomnia or depression. This is a study of twins and non-twins, and the researchers are particularly interested in identical and non-identical twin pairs.
