There are changes afoot at the Australian Twin Registry. We are excited to introduce you to our new name, logo and updated website.
Twins Research Australia is the new voice of the Australian Twin Registry. While our name has changed, our vital work to find cures faster through twin research remains the same.
We will continue to conduct twin research and to seek the help of twins to join in studies. Existing members will automatically transfer to Twins Research Australia – you don’t have to take any action to continue to receive invites to studies and our latest news.
Why the change of name? We have grown to become much more than a twin research register. We are now a driving force in conducting our own innovative studies and educating medical researchers Australia-wide about the power of twin research.
We are also taking an increasing role in advocating for the twin community. Our research includes studies into the unique health concerns of twins and their families. We also develop evidence-based educational resources to support them in living happy and healthy lives.
We didn’t think our existing name reflected the increasing diversity and depth of our work. We hope our new name achieves this and distinguishes our unique contribution to Australian medical research.
With our new name comes a new logo that celebrates our history and our future. The new logo reflects our proud heritage – our blue and yellow 'signature' colours of over 35 years. The 'entwined' twins form a heart, representing health; the twin bond that makes our research possible; and the diversity of our twin members. They are all ages, gender, races, identical and non-identical.
We’ve also updated our website. We hope you find it easier to navigate, engaging and enjoy the improved and expanded content.
